My name is Sabrina Alicea and I’m a multipassionate educator with an eye for all things literacy, art and social justice.

I love education.

I love learning, reading, art and making sure everyone has access to all of the above.

Which is why I do what I do. I’m a multipassionate educator who works to make the world a better place through art, education and social justice. I consult with families, parents, schools and non profits on how to make literacy more fun. I help leaders change their mindset about what it means to bring literacy to kids. I empower marginalized folks to find their voice and claim their strengths through community. It’s a journey I’ve taken in my own career and life which is why I love to share it with the world.

What started off as a yoga blog about my journey through the practice as a stressed out 4th grade reading teacher, has turned into this platform sharing my career of educational consulting, art making, non profit work and more. You’re probably here because you’ve seen me working in one of these spaces!

  • To learn more about my consulting services, click HERE.

  • If you want to shop the merch or check out one of my own art creations, check out Shop La Maestra HERE.

  • If you’re interested in learning more about Somos Arte and community art/education events in Humboldt Park, click HERE.

  • If you want to catch up and know what’s going on in my life, check out my blog! This is where I share resources, recommendations, and thoughts. It’s a tie back to the old yoga blog days where I shared my best practices for growth and expansion in this crazy world. Only now I’m adding book recommendations, my fave products, thoughts on education and more. I’ve also added a blog post to celebrate the launching of this new site by explaining all the things I’ve been up to. You’ll get to see all about my journey from Chicago to LA to Harvard and back home to Chicago. You can check it out on the blog HERE.

Feel free to poke around the site and check some stuff out. I hope you find some valuable things on here! If so, hop on over to my IG page and let me know your thoughts!

Thanks for stopping by
